bummer
Got up at 8am today to wait in line at the local Best Buy for a Wii. The store opens at 11 on Sunday and we got there around 8:55. We didn't know how many they had, but there were already quite a few people in line. Another car pulled up at the same exact time as us, and those people (a guy and girl) made it to the line before us. A store employee arrived shortly after and announced that they had 18 consoles in stock.
A guy in line behind us, who had waited in line unsuccessfully on 4 previous occasions, did a head count of who was getting wiis. The couple before us were getting Wii's # 17 and 18! After they found out that particular fact, they didn't face us for the rest of the time in line. I can't be sure they were actually a couple. I suppose they could've been friends who just drove in together, but there was a guilty look about them.
There were, in fact, several couples/families in line who were each going to get a Wii, most likely to resell on Ebay, or for other friends/family who couldn't bother to get up early to wait in line with the rest of us. The very sad guy behind us (#20) offered $325 to anyone in the line ahead of him to buy their wii. Turns out that the first people in line had set up a chair for a friend of theirs who wasn't sure if he was coming. They were "saving" his place. The lady made a call to her friend who decided to take #20's $75 extra bucks and sleep in instead of coming out to wait in line. Another "gentleman" in line ahead of us happened to have a wii in his trunk, which he walked around and offered to the people behind us for $365, and then went back in line to buy yet another wii to resell. ARG! These people have no sense of fairness or decency.
So the hunt goes on.

raw dough
Safeway brand frozen pizza just isn't any good. It looks very promising, and parts of it actually taste pretty good. The problem is that it's impossible to cook it. You can overcook it by up to 10 minutes and get the edges really burnt, but the center will still be completely raw dough. It's pretty nasty and soggy... literally dripping. I've tried multiple types of this pizza and cooked them in both the regular oven and toaster oven, and have yet to get a fully cooked center. I give up on Safeway pizza. Too bad I can't post reviews for their brand items on their website, I'd give it 2 stars.

April already? Yeah Baby!
It's Sunday night and as Alex wages war against the Malm bedframe crossbeams I figured it was a good time to update the blog.
It was a really busy weekend. I worked both Saturday and Sunday at the Yeah Baby Expo in Santa Clara. On Saturday, we all showed up at 8am to set up our Consumer Genetics booth. By around 2pm we were all worn out and not very enthusiastic about talking to people for another 3 hours. Our strategy for Sunday was to take shifts. I volunteered for the afternoon shift ;) so I got to sleep in a little. I got there at 1am so that I had energy to talk to the expo goers while others could veg in the background. Then we all went out to dinner at El Torito which was delicious.
Tomorrow I start week 2 at my job, although when you work a full weekend it all starts to blend together. I bet tomorrow will feel like a Wednesday.
Why is the Wii still impossible to get?
