wedding woes

It's been a really long time since I posted anything, but I'm in need of venting so here I am. Wedding planning fucking sucks. Alex and I have looked through pretty much every "wedding location" in the NYC area (including Long Island, excluding New Jersey) and have not found a single place we both want to get married in. We're not asking for much.

1. Reasonably priced (less than $125/person)
2. not a wedding factory that cranks them out 2+ at a time
3. no mirrored walls or ceilings
   
4. no lace or doilies
5. no nasty carpet or wall paper
6. windows!!!
7. some place memorable
   

I spoke to a catering director from one of our "finalists" out on Long Island (which we are now reconsidering) and the worst thing he said was "all the brides LOVE the pond." Fuck you, catering guy! I don't care what other brides love. Actually, the fact that a few dozen (hundred?) brides have come through there and had the same exact ice sculpture and fruit display, makes me want to vomit. The complete lack of effort and creativity that our wedding would require of them makes their price seem even more absurd.

Totally bummed.
