oui, Ouidad!

My last haircut was in August 2004 and it was free since I donated my hair to locks of love. Before that, I got my haircuts in Ithaca (tuesday $10 special) or in Staten Island ($15). I was going to try and find the cheapest/free place possible (perhaps a salon school) but I ended up doing the complete opposite - going to the most expensive place I could find :) hehe

I've always wanted to walk in to a really fancy/famous salon, and let the experts do their thing, and that's exactly what I did. There are 2 salons in the city that specialize in cutting curly hair, Devachan and Ouidad. Alison has cut her hair in both of them and suggested Ouidad. It was a 1.5 hour appointment where they taught me how to wash and style my hair, and they used their own line of curly hair products (which they offered to sell me for some ridiculous price). I actually learned a lot today, and I hope I can recreate the look myself. It's pretty simple, but sort of time consuming. I'm pretty happy. I think I'll go back for my next cut.
